Grieving What Never Grew

The Dough That Got Left Behind

It never became what you hoped. It never proved into something whole. You hold the empty shape of it in your hands, wondering if it’s your fault it didn’t grow. But some dough isn’t meant to rise, no matter how much warmth you offer.

You don’t have to keep grieving what never became. You can set it down without finishing the story.

I once mourned a dough ball so long, it became a science experiment.

Let unfinished things be unfinished.
